NAHJ Mourns the Passing of Tim Russert
The National Association of Hispanic Journalists mourns the passing of Tim Russert, NBC News’ Washington bureau chief and moderator of “Meet the Press.” Russert died Friday after collapsing at the bureau. He was 58.
Russert was recording voiceovers for Sunday’s “Meet the Press” broadcast when he collapsed, the network said.
“Tim was a stalwart journalist,” said NAHJ president Rafael Olmeda. “His passion for political journalism was unmatched. He will be truly missed.”
Survivors include his wife, Maureen Orth, a writer for Vanity Fair magazine and their son, Luke.
NAHJ expresses its deepest sympathies to his family and many friends across the country.
