President’s Message: New Academic officer; Multi-Year Membership Discount

Dear NAHJ Nation,

The NAHJ national board met on Saturday to vote on a few items and discuss new business.

The board voted to appoint Yvonne Latty as interim academic officer. Yvonne is the director of the Reporting New York and Reporting in the Nation Multimedia graduate programs at New York University’s (NYU) Arthur Carter Institute. I am very grateful to have her be part of the board. Please join me in congratulating Yvonne.

The board approved a new multi-year membership discount which will launch in April. Regular membership for five years will be $300 – a savings of $75. By choosing this option, you get one year free. If you choose a three-year membership for $175, you save $50. Members will now also have the option of automatic renewal, which means you will not have to worry about your membership lapsing.

The board also approved this year’s election calendar. In order to be eligible to vote in the election, members must be in good standing by July 14.

A summary of the board meeting will be made available to you in a few days. More details about the multi-year membership discounts and elections will be sent out in the coming weeks.
