WINNERS OF THE 2021 NAHJ Ñ AWARDS

Washington, D.C. — The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) celebrated excellence in journalism tonight that represents Latinx communities and cultivates an informed public.

During the 2021 NAHJ Ñ Awards, winners across seven awards categories were recognized for their outstanding contribution in a variety of journalism mediums. The complete list of this year’s winners can be found below.

Presented by Toyota, the bilingual national awards show was live streamed on Telemundo & NBC social platforms and was co-hosted by Noticias Telemundo Anchor Julio Vaqueiro and NBC News Anchor and Correspondent Morgan Radford. Featured contributions by Latinx talent from Puerto Rico to Washington D.C., to the Coachella Valley included musical guests Jeidimar Rijos, Calma Carmona, and Raquel Sofía and actor Pepe Serna reciting a poetic tribute to farmworkers in America. Estuardo Rodriguez, President and CEO of the National American Latino Museum delivered remarks as well as NAHJ’s own National President Nora López and NAHJ Interim Executive Director Zita Arocha.

NAHJ Elaine Rivera Civil Rights & Social Justice Award
Recognizing excellence in coverage of civil rights of Latino Americans and/or issues of social justice for Latinos. Elaine Rivera was a former NAHJ board member and working journalist with a commitment to social justice.
