About the Hall of Fame
Each year, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) proudly honors individuals who have courageously upheld our mission to expand the number of Latinos in newsrooms and improve coverage of Latino communities.
These distinguished individuals exemplify journalistic excellence, leadership, and a deep commitment to mentoring and paving the way for future generations of Latino journalists. Inductees into the NAHJ Hall of Fame have been leaders, mentors, and pioneers in the field, consistently inspiring others through their dedication to the craft.
Eligibility
Who Can Be Nominated: Any journalist is eligible, regardless of NAHJ membership status.
Academic Eligibility: Nominees can also come from the academic field if they have demonstrated a strong commitment to producing outstanding journalists through education.
Event Attendance: The nominee, or a designated representative, must be able to attend the Hall of Fame Gala on Saturday, July 12, 2025, in Chicago, IL.
Ineligible Parties: Current members of the NAHJ Board of Directors and staff are not eligible for nomination.
Nomination Criteria
- Only current NAHJ members may submit nominations.
- If you’re not a member, you will need to join NAHJ to complete an application. To become a member or renew, click here.
Nomination Materials:
- Letter of Nomination:
- 400 words or less
- Describe why the nominee should be inducted into the NAHJ Hall of Fame
- Highlight the nominee’s contributions and impact on the field of journalism
- Nominee’s Résumé: Include relevant professional and academic achievements
- Work Samples: Submit samples in English or Spanish. We recommend providing links to work samples in a Word document
Selection Process

The deadline to nominate a journalists for the 2025 Hall of Fame is April 11, 2025 at 11:59pm PT.
