July 21, 2026 — The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) Board is aware that the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) has changed its originally planned 2027 conference dates to coincide with NAHJ’s confirmed conference schedule for the same year.
In 2024, NAHJ finalized its annual conference dates and locations for 2026, 2027, and 2028 and those plans were announced publicly in January 2025.
NABJ’s scheduling change inevitably impacts NAHJ’s financial, contractual and operational obligations that ultimately impact our members. Our priority remains serving our members while protecting the long-term health of NAHJ.
NAHJ has asked NABJ to adjust its 2027 dates to avoid any scheduling overlap. NAHJ remains willing to engage in a productive dialogue to explore a mutually beneficial solution. We continue to hope those conversations can take place.
NAHJ remains committed to hosting a successful 2027 NAHJ National Conference & Expo while working professionally and respectfully with our colleagues across journalism organizations.
