NAHJ extends support to journalists affected by layoffs

October 16, 2025 — The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) stands in solidarity with all journalists experiencing hardship as a result of layoffs. The profession benefits when talented reporters, editors, visual journalists, producers, and freelancers remain supported and connected. NAHJ affirms the dignity of this work and commits to providing practical resources for stability and growth.

Membership Assistance is available to journalists facing financial strain and provides immediate access to the NAHJ Career Center, the organization’s year-round resource providing members with employment opportunities.

The Career Center serves as a central hub for curated job opportunities, resume and profile tools, and practical search features designed to help candidates surface relevant roles. NAHJ also encourages hiring managers and organizations to use this tool to reach diverse talent ready to contribute.

  • Professional training programs focused on reporting, editing, leadership, data, audio, video, product, and other evolving newsroom competencies.
  • Webinars featuring newsroom leaders and subject-matter experts that highlight hiring trends, portfolio development, and industry best practices.
