The NBCU Summer Internship program gives students real world experience and exposure to one of the world’s leading News divisions, which includes NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC. We are offering internship opportunities within the following programs or platforms for Summer 2023:
- America’s #1 morning news program, The Today Show
- The top ranked evening program, Nightly News with Lester Holt
- Our primetime long form news program, Dateline
- Our 24 cable news channel, MSNBC
- Our top rated business news cable channel, CNBC
- Our digital organization, including NBC News Now
Your professional development is important to us. NBCU interns receive career prep, leadership exposure, connection to other interns, networking, and of course, all the fun you can imagine along the way.
All internships are located in 30 Rockefeller Center, with the exception of the placements at CNBC, which are located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Transportation is provided to Englewood Cliffs, NJ from various locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
In addition to all of our internships being paid, we will also offer the following:
- Paid company holidays for full-time interns.
- Robust networking, learning and development opportunities.
- Interns receive a company laptop for the duration of the program.
- If selected as a fellow, receive a $2,000 travel stipend if you live over 50 miles from the internship location.
Summer 2023 Internship Program:
- Program Dates: June 5 – August 11, 2023
- Time Commitment:Â 40 hours per week @ $16.50 an hour. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.
To Apply:
- Submit a one-page resume that outlines your work experience, accomplishments, and your graduation month and year.
- Submit a cover letter that highlights your passion for NBCUniversal, the locations (listed below) you are open to for internships, and your top areas of interest (opportunities listed below).
- Upload a transcript (unofficial transcripts are fine) that confirms your status as an actively enrolled student in a degree-granting program.
Basic Requirements:
- Must be a current NAHJÂ member.
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY and Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
Desired Characteristics:
- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong interest in the media industry.
- Previous production internship experience and on-campus involvement.   Â
- Strong interest in and demonstrated knowledge of current affairs.   Â
- Desired majors: Journalism or Broadcast Journalism, Digital/New Media Studies, Communications, Political Science, Production, Social Media, English, Business.
