March 18, 2025 – The National Association of Hispanic Journalists announced that “Stronger Together: Journalism, Community, and the Power of Truth” will be the theme of the NAHJ 2025 Conference and Expo, to be held July 9-12 in Chicago.
“These are challenging times for journalism, with layoffs, threats to press freedom, and dwindling support for organizations that believe journalism is for everyone. In the face of adversity, we become stronger through unity,” said conference co-chair Natalie Martinez of NBC 5 Chicago.
“Amid political divides and industry uncertainties, our commitment to each other as Latino journalists is our greatest asset—together, we can amplify the full range of voices telling America’s story,” added conference co-chair Alex Perez, national correspondent for ABC News.
#NAHJ25 will feature close to 100 sessions, including nearly 20 in Spanish. Many feature hands-on training. Topics include immigration coverage, climate coverage, AI/emerging tech, entrepreneurship + freelancing, and health + safety. Members are encouraged to upload their resumes and meet recruiters at the career fair.
